This morning, I was extremely grateful to be a part of the Go Run For Fun Event in Beamish, at the Beamish Museum. It really is such a hidden gem and an ideal location for a family, fun day out. The kids were really enthused to take part in the event, a 1.5mile run.
Firstly, we went through the GRFF dance, as a warm up – which the kids loved – pretending they were Usain Bolt, doing the lightning pose whilst transforming into the next Mo Farah and copying his Mo-Bot moves!
It was inspiring to see how much the kids loved running. Their eyes lit up when they received a gold medal and a goody bag, at the finish – a real sense of achievement. Even the Under 4’s, had a toddler race on the grass – there really was something for everyone involved!
Thankfully, the rain held of just in time and we were treated to sunshine for all the races.
I want to thank all the volunteers and event staff for hosting such a brilliant event and thanks for having me! Lets hope the next generation of youngsters have been inspired to keep their trainers on.
